Pacific Coast Carpentry was engaged by Wagners on behalf of Port Macquarie Hastings Council and Friends of Mrs Yorks Garden.

The viewing platform was opened on 10 April 2021. NSW Governor Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC joined Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams and Port Macquarie-Hastings mayor Peta Pinson to officially open the new space.

The celebration was held as part of the Bicentenary Celebrations. Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC presented the children in attendance at the official opening with a commemorative coin to mark the occasion.
